Position Description:
This position will perform as a competent specialist, consultant, and/or advisor on assignments requiring advanced application of technical or engineering principles relative to Radio Frequency Engineering. Assignments are generally complex in nature with considerable discretion given to work details and approaches utilized. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Provides support in the design, development, and testing of radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave systems architecture and components. Design efforts may include analog and digital circuits or products, frequency synthesizers, amplifiers, transmitters and receivers, downconverters, frequency multipliers, digital logic, demodulators, Land Mobile Radio, SATCOM, Tactical Communications, downconverters, filters and printed circuit board layout. Experience designing systems with QFN component technology.
- Performs, or directs the performance of complex engineering assignments involved in the research, design, and development of an overall project comprised of a number of equipment of systems.
- Maintains liaison with other engineering and scientific organizations to keep abreast of developments in similar fields or programs and coordinates group activities with those of other engineering groups.
- Evaluates engineering progress, developments, and findings to assure technical adequacy to meet operational demands and conformance with established standards and practices.
- Originates engineering plans, ideas, schemes, and techniques as may be required to direct the efforts of assigned personnel in the achievement of desired results and objectives.
- Prepares plans, process specifications and procedures. Prepares studies, cost work standards and assignments of similar complexity and magnitude requiring a comprehensive knowledge of electrical and manufacturing theory and design. Compiles and evaluates test data, prepares technical analysis, recommends methods and processes required to meet design objectives on new or improved products and/or processes. Provides support in technical matters relating to Engineering Change Notices, rework, or other difficulties and specifications of a moderately complex nature. Conducts analyses or tests pertaining to the development of new methods, materials, processes or standards and provides recommendations accordingly. Coordinates with other technical support personnel.
- Works independently, directing and coordinating the work of engineers and other technical personnel engaged in the compilation of engineering data, construction and testing of models, designing component circuits, writing reports and test procedures.
- Performs other functions necessary for the completion of engineering assignments.

Qualifications
- BS in Engineering with at least 8 years of experience working with RF components and system design. In lieu of degree, 16 years of directly related experience.
- Position requires a TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph. Candidates with an active Full Scope Polygraph are preferred, however will consider applicants with a lower level clearance (CI Poly), who meet the technical requirements and who are willing to undergo the change in clearance process.
Additional Qualifications:
- QFN component experience highly desired.
- Experienced in using design software to include Eagleware, PADS PCB, PADS Logic, MicroChip MPLAB.
- Experienced using RF test equipment to include signal generators, network analyzers, spectrum analyzer, vector signal generators, source generators, EVM measurement.
