Job Description:
Clean Air Power is seeking a full time Components Engineer for our Poway, CA location, who will be responsible for coordinating and exercising functional authority for planning, organization, control integration and completion of engineering projects related to CAP’s component products. This individual will be responsible for design, development, manufacturing and application of engine fuel system components and emissions reduction products. The role serves as primary liaison between Operations and Engineering to convert concepts into sound engineering design.
~~Specific responsibilities include:
• Designs and development engine fuel system components and emissions reduction products.
• Assists in the development of advanced engine fuel systems. This includes defining specifications, component design and selection, test and evaluation.
• Develops action plans for goal achievement on specific projects.
• Provides concepts and analysis on product designs of and test fixtures.
• Evaluates and improves manufacturing methods and quality control procedures.
• Coordinates external testing and certification for Clean Air Power’s components
• Interfaces with customers, manufacturers and service vendors as required on both quality assurance and technical matters.
• Provides technical supports to marketing and production to ensure quality products are delivered to customers.
• Confers with scientific, engineering, and technical personnel to resolve engineering problems.
• Supports DFMEAs and other quality documentation as needed to defend and appropriately document components and emissions-related products
• Liaises between operations and engineering teams – turning design concepts as requested by procurement and manufacturing into sound engineering designs
Required Skills and Experience
• Engineering degree
• Minimum 4 years working experience in product designs related to engine fuel systems and exhaust emissions reduction systems
• Experience in mechanical hardware designs and skillful in CAD software including SolidWorks 3D solid modeling, and/or Vellum.
• Familiar with the automotive industry standards such as SAE, ISO and ECE.
• Effective analytical and problem solving skills
• Exposure to areas such as computer simulation of dynamical systems is desirable.
• Prior experience in developing customer relationships, writing product specifications and evaluation reports is also desirable
