Job Description & Qualifications Position Duties

Professional position utilizing engineering education and experience to engage in the development and analysis of vehicle structural performance in front impact, side impact, rear impact, pedestrian protection and low speed damageability simulations. Will be responsible for all phases of engineering, and will interact with other engineers on the safety team and safety department technical experts. 

Will be applying RADIOSS or LS-DYNA analysis codes during the evaluation and development of the vehicle. Will utilize pre and post processing of the model, materials expertise, modeling skills, FMVSS safety requirements and FMVSS safety test procedures in the analysis of safety impact simulations. Will support the physical testing with data and film analysis. 

Will regularly produce development plans and status reports in the process of resolving issues and communicating results. 

Minimum Requirements

* Requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics 
* 1 to 5 years of experience in automotive industryPreferred Requirements

* experience utilizing FEA pre and post processing tools 
* experience in analysis of crash test data 
* expertise in material properties 
* coursework in FEA theory / application 
* experience in applying DOE and optimization tools 
* understanding of FMVSS / IIHS / ECE safety requirements 
* master’s degree
